The Dragonball story is expanded and continued with the start of Dragonball Z (the Z stands for Zen). The series starts off with showing Gohan, Goku's first son. Gohan is just a young boy at first, but as the series progresses, he turns out to be a very important factor for the survival of earth. Goku discovers more about his saiyan heritage as the last three saiyans come to earth. After, there is the search for the dragonballs on Namek and the encounter with the merciless Frieza. Then Garlic Jr. returns stronger than ever. More enemies arise with the Androids and Cell. Then there is the monstrous Buu. Lots of action occurs in DragonballZ. Near the end of the series, Goku has another son called Goten. As DragonballZ came to a close, it progressed into the third and final series called DragonballGT.
