Are Having Full Episodes and Movies Legal?
|
Ahh, the big question. Is it legal for sites to post full episodes/movies and for you to download and keep them? Simply put, NO. What about the "24 hour" rule or the "431.322.12 of the Internet Privacy signed by Bill Clinton"? In this editorial, I will explain the truth about all of this and my perspectives of full episodes and movies.
First of all, the "you can download the episodes/movies put you must delete them after 24 hours unless you own the DVD or video" is a myth and lie. There is no such rule that makes it legal to download full episodes/movies for 24 hours. If you owned the episodes/movies on DVD or video, why would you need to download them anyways?
Second of all, code 431.322.12 of the Internet Privacy Act signed by Bill Clinton is shown on many disclaimers on sites that post full episodes/movies. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if this is true but I AM sure that downloading full episodes/movies is ILLEGAL. It is illegal and unethical. By doing such acts, FUNimation loses money and you could get sued. In my opinion, being sued isn't ideal.
In conclusion, I hope I've cleared a couple of issues up and that I have influenced you to do the right thing. If you came to this site for full episodes/movies, then I'm sorry to have disappointed you. You'll have to go somewhere else to get them. I don't want to be sued.
