According to the American Heritage Dictionay, to affiliate means "To adopt or accept as a member, subordinate associate, or branch". In the Dragonball community, many webmasters misuse the term of affiliation. Affiliation occurs when two webmasters put each other's links on their websites because they are friends. Affiliates help each other out when they have problems. Affiliates give suggestions on how each could improve their site. A lot of webmasters fill their entire websites with a ton of "affiliates". All these webmasters want to do is get hits. That's why many sites, including mine, now disregard the hit requirement when affiliates apply. I mean anyone with a thousand affiliate will surely make 3000+ hits a day. But I have to admit, I do take hits into account when I look at possible affiliates. Why? Well, if a site was good enough to affiliate with me, then I'm sure the site would have a lot of fans. That's why sites with major content have so many fans without the needs for loads of affiliates. And that's why my site grew so fast. In less than 3 months, I now make 2600+ hits a day. That's an average of 1000+ more hits than SSSGohan each day. And why? Personally, I think that I have a lot more content than that site. I only affiliate with sites who I believe have a lot of potential. I'd even affiliate with a site that only got 10 hits a day if it had the content of Planet Namek. In conclusion, I hope I opened your eyes to the true meaning of affiliation. Hits don't matter. Any crappy site can have 10 000 hits a day if he uses IFRAMES to cheat with his Stats4All. It's so easy to do. The hard part is writing up your own content.
