I’m sorry I keep going back to this topic of hits and affiliation, but it’s really bugging me. I receive at least 3-4 emails a day asking for affiliation. I go to the site and none of them meet any of my requirements. I can tell the person stole content, the person has links all over the page, no “nice layout” whatsoever, no originality, nothing that just catches my eye. I hate the way these newbie webmasters are very inexperienced, and expect to even get accepted. You know what I hate even more? Sites that have like 4 pop ups on the main page for top site lists. This tells me that the site is only in for the hits. Have you ever seen sites that say stuff like “Sorry but I have to put this forced voting up because you people aren’t voting for me and I need the hits”. What a load of BS. It ticks me off even more when webmasters post on their news/updates page “My hits have been going down. If you don’t vote for me and get my site more hits, I’ll take down my multimedia” or whatever. Real webmasters don’t do it for the hits; we do it for the fans. So many sites only care about hits. But hits don’t define a site. Any site that has 10 forced votings and 100 pop ups for top site lists will obviously make a lot of hits whether or not the site even has any content. Hits don’t define a site. Content does. Originality does. Effort does. So many webmasters only post news about affiliation and joining top site lists, but never put any content up! Content is what I look for in affiliation. Stolen content? Automatically rejected. When you steal content and apply for affiliation, you’re showing me that you have put no effort whatsoever into your site. All you’re showing me is you only care about getting hits from my site and becoming popular. The absolute worst thing I get daily, is a site that applies for affiliation when it is obvious they copied my content. How dumb can a person be to apply for affiliation with a site that they stole from. Now only does this show me the person is stupid and inconsiderate, it shows me failure to understand simple instructions and requirements. It shows me failure to take time to read. Where do I get this? From the fact that the first requirement for affiliation is “NO STOLEN CONTENT”. Thanks for reading.
